My name is Chad Wood, owner of Precision Drafting and Design. I have been involved in the building industry in East Texas since the early 90’s when I took over ownership and operation of the small construction company founded by my father in 1972. For the next 17 plus years I designed and built custom homes and small commercial projects along with residential and commercial additions and remodels. For the majority of that time I was on each job leading the frame & trim carpentry and supervising the other trade contractors in addition to handling all the design, contracting and management duties. During my time as home builder, I completed the National Association of Home Builders courses required to obtain the Graduate Master Builder certification along with many other industry related educational courses and seminars. As a member of the East Texas Builders Association, I had the opportunity to have several of my homes featured in their annual Parade of Homes over the years.

Although I thoroughly enjoy bringing projects to life through the building process, my true passion has always been rooted in design, so after more than 17 years as a home builder/general contractor, I made the decision to step away from building to focus my talents on the design phase of the construction process and Precision Drafting & Design was born. Since then, I have had the pleasure of working closely with other design professionals, builders and directly with home owners to help bring their visions to life.

I am always budget conscious and will look for ways to control building costs and because time is money, I always strive for quick turnaround times.
